Biography

Stephen Jirka currently is a Psychometrician at Pearson. He is responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing statistical and psychometric analyses for Pearson’s educational assessment projects.

Stephen has extensive experience conducting psychometric and statistical analyses for state departments of education and brings a wealth of large-scale assessment experience to Pearson’s Psychometric and Research Services team in San Antonio, TX.  He was a graduate fellow at Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, NJ and Measured Progress in Dover, NH.  He is an active member of the National Council on Measurement in Education, Psychometric Society, and American Educational Research Association. His research interests include score reporting, performance assessment, and computerized test designs.

Stephen holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology and earned a doctorate in Psychometrics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
